THE RIVER DOESN´T SPEAK

This is a series of drawings that discuss the various issues of the Magdalena River. A few years ago, I had a conversation with a fisherman in the district of Puerto Triunfo in the Middle Magdalena region, where he told me how the armed groups that occupied that territory disposed of dead bodies by throwing them into the river, as the water was silent and quickly decomposed the bodies. "The river does not speak" was the phrase he used in his story, and it is the metaphor I used for this work.

EL RIO NO HABLA

Esta es una serie de dibujos que hablan de las diferentes problemáticas del rio Magdalena.

Hace unos años sostuve una conversación con un pescador en el corregimiento de Puerto Triunfo en la zona del Magdalena Medio, en la que me contaba como los grupos alzados en armas que pertenecían a ese territorio, se deshacían de las personas muertas tirándolas al rio, ya que el agua era silenciosa y descomponía rápidamente los cuerpos, “El rio no habla” fue la frase que utilizó en su relato y que use como metáfora de esta obra.
